Rare Angelo Brotto floor light, circa 1955, Italy Stunning and hard to find early modern design floor light by Angelo Brotto Artistic modern shaped floor light with an overall height of 73.6". Delicately designed and constructed. The upper metal cap and the lower perspex cap are interconnected by several black enameled brass stems reminding of orbital design or space-age forms like Sputnik f.e. The lighting poured though this structure gives a magnificent light. It's a high-quality lamp comprised of brass, red painted aluminum, colored iron and acrylic diffuser and a marble foot. Floor lamps are great for accentuating living rooms or studies. It's in very good, cleaned and re-polished condition, with black cord, 3 bulbs e14 max wattage 40W per bulb. Measure: Height is 73.6". Known for his approach to design with new artistic modern shapes Angelo Brotto (1913-2002) made a great impact on the world of design. He was commissioned creating pieces in Venice for Peggy Guggenheim’s collection and many of his pieces are in design collections all over the world. He worked with Arteluce+ Arredoluce (Gino Sarfatti) and Esperia amongst others.
