Set of Four Space Age Brass and Blown Glass, 1970
About the Item
We offer an amazing and unique set of large Space Age light fixtures. One table lamp, two pedant lights and one flush mount. The set was made by the German manufacturer in the 1970s.
These heavy quality light sculptures not only function as light sources but also as a sculptural components. To build a beautiful composition. We have multiple quantity and sizes of this model available.
The spheres of the four-light fixtures were purposely created to be filled with random bubbles and pockets of air within the glass that capture and refract light from the interior bulbs to demonstrate their handcrafted origin.
When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing four brass lamp holders with E27 sockets with gold colored mirror head bulbs of different heights along with an arrangements of solid brass spheres also at various heights.
The arrangement is reminiscent of the Atomium structure in Brussels, Belgium that made its debut in 1958 and ushered in a physical embodiment of the atomic age.
The frames are in good condition. The large blown globes are all original and also in very good condition.
They are cleaned and are well-wired and ready to use. The light requires four E27 sockets with brass colored mirror head bulbs. Mirror head bulbs are included in the price.
The size of the pendant lights:
15" diameter x 31.5" height.
The size of the table light:
15" diameter x 17.7 " height.
The size of the flushmount:
15" diameter x 21.2" height.
As said we will rebrass the outside this means we have a delivery time depending of the Galvano processing time. Estimated production time for brassing is 6-7 weeks.
