Modernist Brass Sputnik Chandelier w/ Hand Blown Translucent Murano Glass Discs
About the Item
This dramatic and graphic sputnik was realized in Murano, Italy- the islands off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for their superlative glass production. It features a wealth of polished brass rods emanating from circular body of the same material. The centres of the discs are filled with miniscule bubbles resembling effervescent water while the perimeters are free of texture. Created after an iconic design by Vistosi, and made in the same manner for more than fifty years, this piece is as modern looking today as ever before. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The fixture accommodates six Edison based bulbs providing up to six hundred watts of light. Approximately 6-9 week lead time, if not immediately available.
