Thanks to its large size, its handcarved floral design and its superb condition this antique alabaster chandelier will light up both your days and evenings like no modern light ever could. It is all hand-crafted in the European Arts and Crafts era and we can only imagine how difficult it must have been to perfectly and symmetrically handcarve all the floral patterns around the body of this striking alabaster When you look at the equally perfect, rounded edge on top then you also get a better idea of the thickness of this large and superb condition antique. This large, three light chandelier has no cracks, no chips and, thus, no restaurational work done to it and this unique shade also rings like a gong when you strike it (that is how structurally sound this remarkable and weighty shade is). This not only is one of the most wonderfully designed alabaster pendants we have ever had the pleasure of offering, it also has a marvelous spread of colorful veins and patches, including some black ones. These have all formed in this mineral stone over thousands of years and they make it even more special. Especially with the light shining through, they come out in their full glory and that is one of the most important reasons why our clients (both trade and private) keep coming back for these remarkable antique light fixtures. The highly skilled craftsman whom created this hand-carved work of beauty really must have been at the top of his game and for this chandelier to still be in this amazing condition after 100+ years too is like an ode to his craftsmanship.
