About the Item

Largest, single alabaster shade chandelier ever. Over the years we have offered and sold some of the best alabaster chandeliers, but never before were we able to purchase a single alabaster shade chandelier this size. Finding an antique alabaster chandelier that is over 20 inches in diameter is becoming ever harder so to have found one that is over 30 inches in diameter was and is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. And not only is it in the best color you would hope to find it in (black and white), it also has the most timeless design so that it can literally be used in every kind of interior. The only 'downside' is that at some point in time the shade has been restored. However, it was clearly done professionally, because the outside has again been superbly polished. This also means it still has its original shine. Inside this enormous shade are the three original, solid and gilt brass arms that hold two sockets each. Since this unique pendant light has been rewired to the highest standard, each of these six sockets will now take a 100 watt bulb, easily. Both the brass ball-suspension points on the outside of the shade and the mint condition, solid brass chains are replacements that perfectly complement the timeless look and feel of this antique light fixture. If you thought that an alabaster light with a diameter of 20 inches is large (and it is) then you will be amazed when you see this timeless rarity in real life. We certainly were. Just like most antique alabaster pendants, this colossal, six-light specimen too is all hand-crafted and they used the perfect alabaster rock for this shade, because it comes with both several black veins, but also with numerous whiter veins and patches that have formed in this mineral stone over a period of thousands of years. And especially with the light switched on they come out in their full glory, making this pendant even more amazing. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this one of a kind chandelier. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit extra and this unique alabaster light certainly is no exception. Both with the lights on and off its timeless beauty will never go unnoticed. Thanks to the brass chains we (or you) can also shorten the drop to one that is perfect for you. We can also make this pendant longer, because we have more of this beautiful chain. Thanks to the metal hook inside the height adjustable, antique brass canopy, safely mounting this enormous alabaster chandelier tight to your ceiling (and over your junction box) should take no more than 10 minutes either. Although we would advise to do this job with a minimum of two adults. Over the years several interior designer clients have asked for an antique alabaster light of this size and we hope to be able to make one of them very happy with this rarity. With perfect packing (in a custom made crate) and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 7 days included in our fair price this giant, six-light alabaster chandelier certainly is great value for money.
