A French 19th century Renaissance st. Ormolu and patinated Bronze chandelier

About the Item

A stunning and very high quality French 19th century Renaissance st. Ormolu and patinated Bronze chandelier. This impressive twelve arm chandelier is centered around a topie shaped bottom finial hanging below a circular pierced foliate decorated base. The section above the pierced base contains six small scaled 'C' scrolled arms accented by acanthus leaves and closed bulb tulips with fluted patterns. Above is the hexagonal mounting frame containing reeded designs that presents the six 'C' scrolled foliate decorated arms. A patinated Bronze cherub sits above a scrolling design atop the end of the inner arm while happily holding different fruits. That inner arm introduces two additional scrolling foliate designed arms with pierced reserves and finials before the elaborate candle cups a the end. The mottled central fut decorated with acanthus leaf sprays, rosette badges, and reeded patterns leads to the pierced top crown. The pierced top crown has six 'S' scrolled bands that contain scrolling rosette reserves with reeded designs. The top is tastefully decorated by scallop shaped crest patterns to form a true crown. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
