19th Century Italian Eight Light Chandelier

About the Item

An outstanding 19th century Italian gilt wood and iron, beaded glass and crystal chandelier. This eight light chandelier is centered by a foliate carved giltwood fut with a crystal rosette and ball pendant. Eight lovely beaded 'S' scrolled gilt iron arms with a beaded strand on each side follow the same contours and joins the central arm. Each arm, with wonderful giltwood foliate carved saucer and candle cup above, ends with an ornate rosette medallion and beaded tassel with a rosette and crystal pendant. In between each arm is a spray ending with a larger rosette and teardrop cut crystal pendant. Above are three levels of beaded sprays ending in rosettes and crystal pendants. The lower level is embellished with kite shaped crystals, and the two upper level have teardrop shaped crystals. All original iron and gilt throughout.
