Native American Indian Doll with Traditional Lakota Sioux Cherokee Wedding Dress

About the Item

Native American Indian doll with traditional Lakota Sioux Cherokee wedding dress with bead-work, one of a kind This is an authentic Native American, American made lifelike adult doll. She has a face and hands made from artistically modeled clay. The long fringed dress is made from chamois and adorned with colorful glass beads. She wears a pair of beaded moccasins and matching leggings. Around her neck hangs a long beaded, elaborate necklace. The back of the head is incised, “#10 Steals the fire”. This doll is so extraordinary it cannot be found for sale in stores or online. To my knowledge there are only one or two very talented Native American artists who are creating these dolls to such traditional perfection. The circa 30 year old doll was obviously well handled. The results can be seen in the broken finger and a light stiffness in the chamois dress because of earlier dampness. The condition does not take away from the rarity of this native doll. Measurements: Height - 17 inches Weight - 1 lb. 4 oz.
