This is a large Vintage silver plated Monteith punch bowl dating from the late 20th Century.
The punch bowl can also double as an excellent wine cooler for 5 or 6 bottles .
It is truly magnificent and will attract the maximum amount of attention from all of your guests.

Monteiths are of a similar design to punch bowls. They were conceived in England as a ‘variation on a theme’. Allegedly they were designed by a gentleman called Monteith, who was renowned for wearing a scalloped coat.
Monteiths were originally made with a shaped or notched upper rim, (of similar design to their namesake’s coat). This emarginated rim allowed a punch ladle, tall glasses and a lemon strainer to be held by the bowl. Later this became a removable ’crown’, allowing the bowl to be used as a punch bowl.
