The upper rim of the body is ornamented with a shaped band of scalloped simplified leaf designs. This antique silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked, domed flush hinged cover surmounted with an impressive and original, cast sterling silver tiered floral bud style finial; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece. The cover is further ornamented with flat chased foliate designs to the rim and encircling the lower portion of the finial.
