About the Item

Finest quality Antique (late 19th century) French oval-shaped centerpiece bowl in the Sevres style, of impressive scale, measuring 21 3/4 inches across, finely painted and gilt with oval-shaped cartouches depicting courting lovers on one side, and a floral bouquet on opposite, with interior painted with floral garlands and song bird in center, with gilt bronze mounts including bellflower handles, beading around the rim, and raised on a base with additional neoclassical motifs including acanthus, scrolls and shields.
