A large circa 1815 blue and white Staffordshire transferware platter produced by Spode in the 'Gothic Castles' pattern having shaped body with underglaze transfer printed decoration, the central reserve having Gothic castle in an Oriental garden landscape, the chinoiserie border with vignette cartouches and animal roundels.
