Russian Faberge Attributed Blue Glass Egg with Engraved Designs
About the Item
A fine quality large antique/vintage Russian hand-blown engraved cobalt blue glass egg attributed to Faberge and probably dating from the early 20th century. The egg is hollow hand blown and finely made with a small flat polished foot with central hole. The egg is finely engraved with a simple repeat patterned design around the body and with a star design to the top which has been hand painted with gilt decoration. Such pieces were made by Faberge although they are not commonly marked.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art market.
In good original condition with light wear associated with age and use.
