1800s Antique German Silver Beaker
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique German silver beaker; an addition to our continental silverware collection.
This exceptional antique German silver beaker has a subtly tapering cylindrical form.
The body of the beaker is embellished with chased scrolling leaf and floral ornamentation, accented with horizontal bands of tooled decoration.
The decoration to the body incorporates a contemporary engraved initial 'MAM' surmounted with a coronet to one side and to the other a bright cut engraved crest of a dove holding an olive-branch, stood on an arrowhead.
The upper rim is encompassed with an applied moulded border.
This exceptional 19th century silver beaker is supported by three impressive ball style feet.
The base of this exceptional example of antique silverware retains the silversmith's centre punch mark, in addition to the German state mark and maker's mark (FE).
The interior of this exceptional beaker retains the original gilding.
Condition
This fine antique 19th century beaker is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and is in exceptional condition.
The chased decoration is very sharp.
The German hallmarks struck to the underside of the beaker are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.

These exceptional antique Russian silver gilt vodka tots have a cylindrical form to a plain knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot.
The surface of each Russian vessel is embellished with fine and impressive turquoise hot enamel.
The gilt silver knopped pedestals are encircled with further hot enamel decoration to the cylindrical stemmed portions.
The anterior and interior surfaces of these impressive tots/cups retain the original gilding.
These exceptional drinking vessels are fitted to a satin wood presentation box with a velvet and satin lined interior, securing with a hinged clasp.
