Spanish Modern - Oslo Ashtray & Minister Lighter Design Andre Ricard 1960s

About the Item

Designed in 1967 by André Ricard for Flamegas S. A. the OSLO ashtray and the MINISTER lighter have a Minimalistic/ POP styling. The OSLO ashtray made with a stainless steel bowl and red plastic body as well as the MINISTER lighter with chrome top. On the bottom labeled: ASHTRAY - "OSLO" - Flamagas S.A. -Barna Made in Spain - Designed ASHTRAY & CIGARETTE HOLDER - "OSLO" - Flamagas S.A. -Barna Made in Spain - Designed ASHTRAY & CIGARETTE HOLDER - "OSLO" - Flamagas S.A. -Barna Made in Spain - Designed A ndre Ricard / LIGHTER - Flaminaire / LIGHTER - "MINISTER" - Flamegas S. A. - Patented - Flaminaire. Condition: Both in very good condition with consistent with age. The lighter probably works when fueled but can not find how to refill the fuel. Measurements: OSLO - 3 inches high x 2 inches diameter; MINISTER - 4 inches high x 2 1/2 inches diameter. André Ricard (1929- 2017) born in Barcelona, Catalonia was prolific industrial designer. Ricard designs focus was on lighting and household products. He gather worldwide fame by designing the torch for the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics and the Olympic Cauldrum at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Since 1963, Ricard created packing designs for Antonio Puig Perfumes, the best known the iconic green bottle of Agua Brava men's cologne.
