Italian Cigar Ashtray made in Brass And Cognac Leather By The Bridge
About the Item
I am offering for sale an item that fully expresses the pursuit of perfection and the great skills of Florentine artisans when it comes to leather processing.
This cigar ashtray, which can also be used as a Vide Poche, was produced between the 90s and the early 2000s by the Florentine clothing brand "The Bridge" as attested by the leather label on the back and the engraving on the brass.
The Bridge expresses the value of Made in Italy by drawing on a romantically retro English style aesthetic, producing bags and accessories characterized by the natural and timeless elegance of full-grain Italian leather, vegetable tanned and polished until it becomes soft and incredibly shiny.
The item we are offering is made of solid brass framed by cognac-colored stitched leather.
The octagonal shape is interrupted on four corners to accommodate the cigar holders, and is equipped with a small pestle, also covered in leather, which has the function of extinguishing cigarettes and cigars.
The item is in good vintage condition, it shows minimal signs of use and time.

Midcentury Travertine Ashtray in the Style of Fratelli Mannelli, Italy, 1970s
By Fratelli Mannelli
Located in Roma, IT
Sculptural Ashtray attributable to the historic company Fratelli Mannelli, specialized in the processing of travertine.
Known for its collaboration with the designer Enzo Mari, who designed a series of stylized travertine animals, this Manifcaturer has also produced many other furnishing elements such as ashtrays, coffee tables and lamps.
The ashtray that we offer for design and material seems to be part of this vast production of this manufacturer.
The ashtray has a classic quadrangular shape but the distinctive element that distinguishes it and makes it more similar to a sculpture than a simple ashtray is in the handmade carved elements.
There is a small central basin that connects with those created to be able to place the cigarettes laterally, but above all the lines that intersect each other as in a sound sculpture by Pinuccio Sciola.
