Small Swedish modern patinated bronze vase decorated with a simple flower in relief, made by Guldsmedsaktiebolaget (GAB), in the 1930s. Model 265, marked with the sheaf of wheat symbol indicating excellent quality. Stamped GAB, Brons, 256. Elegant and sculptural piece with nice proportions and a delicate yet robust look. Guldsmedsaktiebolaget was founded 1867 in Stockholm and was one of the most renowned Companies in Scandinavia, making high quality designs in gold, silver, silver plating, bronze and pewter. From 1907-1941 Jacob Ängman was the artistic director, followed by Sven Arne Gillgren 1942-1975. Many prominent designers and artists were affiliated with GAB, among those Folke Arström, Sigvard Bernadotte, Just Andersen, Maja-Lisa Ohlson, Harald Bergsten, Georg Thylstrup, Arne Erkers, Erik Fleming and more.
