Hand blown Macette Murano glass large centerpiece vase in red, white and clear glass, Italy, 1950s.
This gorgeous vase is made with red glass submerged into clear glass. It has accents in white and brown and the outer surface is finished using the 'macette' technique
The Macette Murano glass technique consists in the application of particles, drops or small pieces of glass in different colors or in clear glass covering the surface of the piece. These small pieces of glass give this vase a textured appearance similar to crushed ice.
