French Late 19th Century Empire Crystal and Gilt Bronze Lions' Heads Vase

About the Item

French late 19th century Empire crystal and gilt bronze lions' heads vase Issuing from a slim columnar gilt bronze base standing on a octogvonal cut crystal glass plinth a baluster shaped cut crystal glass body with a long narrow neck. The center of the vase being decorated by a gilt bronze ring showing Empire style swan and fruit basket vignettes; both sides of the bronze ring adorned with lions' heads' ring handles. Rim of the Vase with fluted gilt bronze mount. The excellence of execution of both the chasing of the bronze and the glass work lead to Baccarat, one of the major French manufactures of decorative glass objects as the maker of the vase.
