A Beautiful Vases of Six Colourful Vases by Kaj Franck, KF 245, Nuutajärvi 1957

About the Item

Kaj Franck designed for the Nuutajärvi factory from 1951 until the 1980s. At the same time he worked as a designer for the Arabia factory. At Nuutajärvi Franck designed art glass objects, unique items and products for mass production. He started using a lot of different colours and renewed ancient old techniques in the glass blowing department. These 6 vases model KF245 are quite nice decorative objects with fresh colours, both dark and light. If put by the window frame, were the sun light goes through them, they look nicer yet. All vases signed and they date form the 1950-1960s. Kaj Franck (1911-1989) was the artistic director of the Arabia ceramics company. He was one of the leading figures of Finnish design and an influential figure in design and applied arts between 1940-1980. His leading role and influence on Finnish design is celebrated with one of the most prestigious awards named after him (The Kaj Franck Award) .
