19th Century Meissen Style Porcelain Napoleon lll Bowl Vase Centerpiece

About the Item

This is a gilt bronze mounted and hand painted porcelain large bowl vase with lid. The hand painted continuous scene shows a town celebration with some peasants dancing & playing some instruments while others are drinking. Around the top & bottom part, there are also some flowers painted. There is a gilt bronze reticulated upper border. The vase stands over a bronze octagonal pedestal. The lid is adorned with a finial made of a cupid holding a flowers garland. Both handles depict the face of god pan, (Pan is the god of pasturelands. He rules over shepherds, hunters & rustic music). Under the vase, there is a blue crossed swords with dots mark.
