French 19th Century Neoclassical Style Bronze and Ormolu Urn

About the Item

A sensational and extremely high quality French 19th century neo-classical st. patinated bronze and ormolu urn attributed to Henry Dasson. The urn is raised by three 'S' scrolled supports. The supports have hooves at the bottom and open winged maiden above. The three supports have inner foliate scrolls which are joined in the center by a circular reeded finial. Above is the urn richly decorated with soldiers amidst foliate scroll designs and a large eagle. The gilt designs are in front of a patinated background.
