18th Century Blue and White Delft Bottle Inscribed 'Boy' Hand-Painted Circa 1750
Located in Katonah, NY
This blue and white English Delftware bottle, made circa 1750-1760, has a tall, narrow neck with a slightly flared rim on a distinctive globular body. The decoration is the word "BOY" framed by blue dashes. It is hand-painted in blue, done in a freehand, fluid style that includes typical irregularities in the paint. Historically, 18th-century English Delftware is known for its freehand, fluid decoration, characterized by minor irregularities that evoke an authentic folk art quality. The rustic and uneven glaze is also characteristic of this pottery. The bottle has a utilitarian feel, featuring four protruding lugs on the sides. Its modest yet charming form, rounded shape, and understated ornamentation reflect the everyday aesthetic of mid-18th-century Delftware production. Delftware jugs were often created for public houses, and "Boy" might reference part of a pub name, a local drinking song, or a common toast. Just as likely, given England's strong maritime traditions, this could refer to a sailor's drinking vessel. In naval and military slang, "Boy" was often used to refer to young sailors or recruits. This hand-painted inscription adds a personal touch, making this bottle a unique and engaging example of antique Delftware...

Pair of Porcelaine de Paris Vases Signed and Gifted to "la Princess de Lamballe"
Located in New Orleans, LA
This pair of vases is made of exceptionally fine Porcelaine de Paris from the 18th century. The bronze mounts are covered in gold, and were 19th century additions. The porcelain itself is a phenomenal blue color with gold designs on it that looks magnificent. The vases each have a set of four portraits on them as well: two horizontal scenes on the front and back, with two vertical portraits above them on the front and back as well. Chelsea Porcelain Frill Vase with Birds, Rococo ca 1760
Located in London, GB
This is a charming frill vase made by the Chelsea Porcelain factory in about 1760. The vase is in the Rococo style and it speaks for itself why this style of vase is called a "frill" vase. This vase has undergone restorations (although it still holds water perfectly) and is therefore offered As Found (A/F) at a reduced price. Chelsea was one of the very early adopters of porcelain in the British china industry. Founded in 1744 the Chelsea pottery was for about 40 years the leading maker of fine chinaware, excelling in their sense of style, perfection and constant innovation and inspiring many following generations of china makers. The company was started by French silversmith Nicholas Sprimont and you can see the influence of the French style of silverware...
