Large Amethyst Cluster with Large Scalonehedral Crystal Calcite

About the Item

A Collector-Grade, Aesthetical Brazilian Scalenohedral Crystal-Clear Calcite on Purple Amethyst ▫️ Description With classic beauty, gorgeous aesthetics that highlights a sharp, gemmy, well-formed crystal-clear calcite, this specimen is a rare recent find from Ametista do Sul. The crystal-clear calcite formed flawlessly, “hugged” by vibrant purple amethyst that provides contrast and brilliant luster. Although many calcite pieces have appeared since the 1970s, when amethyst mining began, this specimen distinguishes itself with its remarkable clarity and a doubly terminated crystal perched on an undamaged, all-natural matrix. The crystal calcite is scalenohedral, featuring a sharp and balanced twin plane at its center. The amethyst formed in multiple generations: its base displays a rich purple hue mixed with rare golden goethite, while the most recent half showcases a clear crystal known as “Phantom Amethyst.” All-natural and pristine, the geode and Calcite formation developed over millions of years in perfect harmony, making it a unique and irreplaceable work of natural art.
