Amethyst Black Druze Quartz or “Black Galaxy Amethyst” on Metal Stand Decor

About the Item

An exquisite black amethyst druzy quartz cluster with polished stalactites. Rare and notoriously difficult to find, this stunning and unique black amethyst druzy quartz, is known as Black “galaxy” amethyst to collectors. The unique black druzy color requires a very particular environment to occur, including hematite inclusions and a higher iron content inside the crystalline matrix. To further add to its beauty, this piece also has several layers of quartz on top which add a glimmering dimension to its aesthetic causing an intense sparkle. The edges of the natural sculpture have been polished and reveal grey agate, white quartz and some glimpses of green caledonite. The piece is enhanced with 2 polished stalactites resembling “circles”, demonstrating an aesthetic harmony between natural beauty and design. The back of the piece maintains its rough basalt condition, and the sculpture is a very decorative piece and is displayed on a custom metal Stand. This piece was legally and ethically sourced directly in the prestigious mines of Uruguay, South America. Uruguayan amethyst is internationally recognized as being the finest and most aesthetic amethyst in the world, due to its intense deep purple coloration, the large size of its peaked crystals, and its durability. These crystals were formed over 120-140 million years during the Cretaceous period, and as all of our pieces are formed naturally, they are completely unique and unrepeatable natural wonders of art.

Amethyst Cathedral Geode with Rare Black Galaxy Druzy
Located in Ametista Do Sul, BR
A one-of-a-kind natural masterpiece, this Amethyst Cathedral Geode is truly a collector’s specimen. Its most prominent feature is the Dark Galaxy Druzy: small, exceptionally clean Amethyst points with a rare black tone that blends with violet and golden goethite inclusions, creating an unparalleled shine. The druzy displays rare characteristics, most notably the presence of Golden Goethite (also known as Cacoxenite) inclusions throughout. Similar to how Rutile Needles form, Golden Goethite is composed of iron that existed before the quartz took shape, now forever encapsulated within the Amethyst points. These inclusions add to the striking coloration and enhance the geode’s brilliant luster, further increasing its rarity. This specimen also features numerous Amethyst Flowers (also known as Amethyst Rosettes...
