VALTON" to base over foundry cachet Item # 301HOC20P A good early cast circa 1910 of Charles Valton's Lioness and Two Cubs, it is a beautifully detailed sand-casting with a rich red-oxide and medium-brown surface patination that highlights the texture of the surface. The two cubs sit at total peace beneath their powerful mother, her head lowered in a low growl as she likely threatens a fellow lion away from the meal of rabbit she has brought for her cubs.
