About the Item
A Superb Example of an English Sterling Silver Art Deco Period Embossed twin ink bottle desk standish, complete with all its accessories to include a pair of removable silver mounted glass ink jars encased within their hinged lidded cases.
The main gadrooned rectangular edge frame with allover lavish cast entwined swag cast detailing is raised on four highly ornate supports with shell, acanthus and scrolling detail. The surface of inkstand incorporates two full length concave pen receivers
Mark of CSH for C S Harris & Sons.
Assayed in London in 1910.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses, possibly never used. Marks are crisp and clear, two feet at back are bend slightly inwards.
Measures: Width: (at main top area) 9.5" (24cm). Depth: (at base of frame) 7” (17+.75cm) Height: (entire) 2.75” (7cm).
Total Weight: (an impressive whopping) 43ozs (1193gramms).

This stunning offering is modelled as an ancient Gothic Style Religious building ending on a well veined Sienna Marble platform base. The Ormolu dome top finial covers complete with their internal bronze linings. An early ormolu and Sienna Marble Watch stand is included.
Condition: Good condition, original good surface patination, small repair to corner of marble base, see image. Baise underneath has been replaced, nicely done. Back and front views are similar, no visible foundry marks.
Height: (inkstand) 5.25" (13.5cm). Width: (at base) 7" (17.5cm). Depth: (at base) 4” (10.25cm).
