Huge 42 Inch Diameter Reclaimed Factory Wall Clock By Gents Of Leicester

About the Item

HUGE RECLAIMED FACTORY WALL CLOCK BY GENTS OF LEICESTER A massive and rare reclaimed factory slave clock made in England circa 1940 by Gents of Leicester. The clock has been reclaimed from a closed down mill in the oldham area north of Manchester. The clock has gained wonderful character from years of industrial use and even survived a factory fire with the age related marks to show it. Arabic numerals, the well know Gents of Leicester hand paint text to the dial and arrow head hands indicate the time, with wonderful overall proportions make this a true statement price for any wall. The existing slave turret movement has been retained and runs using a modern impulse driver which can be battery or mains operated. The artists figure in the images is 6ft 1" to give a representation of scale. DOUBLE SIDED SQUARE WALL CLOCK BY GENTS OF LEICESTER A rare form and size clock by British clock makers Gents of Leicester. Manufactured circa 1940 The clocks steel case has been exposed and left in a RAW brushed finish and protected with a liquid beeswax polish. The clock retains its original slave movements and is controlled by a modern impulse driver which can be mounted external from the clock to control and changes that are required. The clock is a wall mounted variant but this can be spun to be ceiling mounted if required.
