French Late 18th-early 19th C. Fine Cherry Tall Case Clock

About the Item

A neoclassical style case with pilaster supports and a chapeau de gendarme bonnet, A glazed door over the face with enamel dial and lovely repousse brass surround topped with sea monsters flanking an urn with flowers and a tall palmette. Glazed doors on the bonnet sides and recessed panels on the case above and below. The lower case with a door opening to the works. H. 78", W. 24", Depth 12 3/4" Condition: Please see photos for details of the condition. There are some stable cracks to the bonnet inner arched frame. There is expected wear on the base which does not detract from the authentic Country French presentation. In working condition with weights and pendulum.
