Pair of Gilt Bronze Neoclassical Candlesticks 19th Century

About the Item

A pair of very finely-chiselled French gilt bronze candlesticks crafted in the neoclassical style. The decoration is extremely intricate, particularly on the circular base and tulip-shaped capitals, with encircling bands of grapes and vine leaves, together with garlands of acanthus, enrobing them completely. The stems are elegantly tapering and fluted, and sit upon ornate goblet-shaped feet. These candlesticks are in excellent vintage condition, with an authentic patina from years of daily use. They would be an ideal addition to a mantlepiece or dining table, where they are sure to add a touch of timeless elegance.
