Italian 17th Century Candleholders from Northern Italy, circa 1670

About the Item

A pair of exuberant Italian 17th century candleholders from northern Italy, circa 1670. Each polychrome and giltwood candle holder is raised on scrolled feet below a uniquely shaped pedestal with winged cherub masks. Above are wonderful winged angels in draped attire raising up a candle holder. Large detailed wings span behind each figure. Finely executed and extremely well preserved with all the original iron nails, polychrome and gilt throughout.
