An exceptional, fine and impressive set of four of antique George V English sterling silver piano candlesticks; an addition to our antique silverware collection. These exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver piano candlesticks have a cylindrical form onto a square spreading base. The Corinthian capital of each retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce, ornamented with an embossed bead decorated border to the rim. The capitals are supported by a classic column, encircled with vertical fluted decoration. The lower portion of each column features a plain rounded knop to a spreading square base. The surface of the bases are each ornamented with embossed scrolling leaf and stylised bud swag designs. The rims are encompassed with bead decoration above further fluted designs, reflecting that of the column. The plain cylindrical capital of each silver candlestick is plain and encircled with an applied moulded border to the rim. The waisted column of each candlestick is embellished with chased leaf decoration to a large compressed circular knop, in addition to leaf motifs enveloping the lower portion.
