About the Item
Shaped box in 925/1000 sterling silver gold plated with painted fire enamels like lapis lazuli stone and beautiful miniature hand painted by the painter Beatrice Mellana reproducing the fresco by Simone Martini with Guidoriccio da Fogliano. Shape taken from the panels of the North Door of the Baptistery of the Cathedral of Florence by Filippo Brunelleschi in pure Florentine Renaissance style, 15th century. Size cm. 12.5 x 12.5 x 3.5. Weight gr. 851. Designed in 1978 by Giorgio Salimbeni inspired by previous artefacts from the early 1900s and produced at the Salimbeni company headquarters in Florence with manual workmanship by skilled artisan artists with a high thickness plate and large reinforcements suitable for supporting numerous high-fire enamelling firings at around 750 < 800° C.
It is a new object that has never been used but is considered vintage because it was built more than 20 years ago.
