About the Item

Very pretty 1920s Persian brass jewelry box in neo-Mamluk Moorish style. This lovely box is an antique Mamluke Damascene style Islamic brass jewelry box from the Middle East, circa 1910-1920. This old jewelry box in Syrian damascened brass, hammered and engraved by hand can be used as a trinket box, trinket box or decorative box. It is made of brass with an octagonal lid. It was handcrafted and carved with Islamic Arabic calligraphy. The box is decorated with an engraved Arabic inscription and lotus flowers with a very beautiful Arabic pattern. This Middle Eastern brass jewelry box features an octagonal hinged lid. This is a superb decorative Islamic art object in brass, in the Mamluke Revival style. Hammered and engraved by hand.
