About the Item

A fine quality brass inlaid Campaign style traveling desk with a recessed brass handle engraved with the name of its owner, Anne Orten. The piece opens to reveal a velvet lined writing surface and pen rest with spaces for 2 inkwells. This item is unusual for the quality of the brass inlay and the overall stylishness of the form. Circa 1850.
