Mid-19th Century French Napoleon III Period Marquetry Cigar Box, Music Box

About the Item

This mid nineteenth century French Napoleon III period marquetry cigar presentation box is constructed of rosewood and is marked Cigares on the top in lemon wood inlay. Additional inlay of garlands and flowers surround the central designation of the box. The rim of the lid is trimmed in bronze. When opened, it also functions as a music box and displays three compartments for cigars to be kept. c. 1860.
