French Mid-19th Century Louis XVI Style Mounted Pedestal

About the Item

A handsome French mid-19th century Louis XVI st. ebony, giltwood and ormolu mounted pedestal. The pedestal is raised by a square ebony base with a richly chased Coeur de Rai designed ormolu band. Above is a circular socle with two ormolu bands. The tapered gilt fluted column is below ormolu rosettes and the square ebony top shelf elegantly decorated by an ormolu band with designs of laurel branches.
