This is a large monumental fireplace. An English, Blanco marble fire surround with neoclassical taste by the renowned Devonshire sculptural artist, Dominic Hurley. Truly impressive proportions of 7.15' x 5.74' (218cm x 175cm) In the finest marble by the hand of this sought-after master-craftsman Bright Blanco marble ground with gently polished finish Exquisite piece by Dominic Hurley of rural Devonshire Deep mantel crown with impressive egg and dart chase over dentil cornice Decorative female figurehead pilasters with a bounty of fruits and foliate forms Elaborate carved frieze across the centre with scrolled vines and heraldic sash ribbon Fire surround decorated with acanthus to each corner framing a chased flower beading Highly detailed female masks to either side with dashing features and billowing gown The spectacular result of many hundreds of hours of painstaking craftsmanship Attention to detail from the hair to the decorative fruit garlands Presented upon a deep black marble plinth with a generous fireplace opening A fascinatingly rare chance to acquire this monumental fireplace, a grand statement piece sure to elicit admiration and delight in those who gaze upon its splendour.
