About the Item

16th Century Spanish Renaissance Coffered Ceiling. Tempura on Pine is brilliant colors of azure, red, black and white. Moorish Rosettes and intertwined motifs throughout. Was reduced from a much larger ceiling and removed by us from an historic house on Lower Beacon Hill, Boston. The tempura colors are actually quite vibrant and can be easily cleaned. Condition:

Additions or alterations made to the original: Reduced in size. Some rosettes are replacements. Original paint is easily cleaned. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Could be cleaned. Dimensions are a best guess. Will require reassembly and imagination. When we removed it from the house on Beacon Hill it was revealed that a simple 2x4 drop ceiling for attachment was all that was necessary to hang.
