Framed Chinese Silk Embroidered Tapestry Panel with Cranes and Floral Motif

About the Item

A long tall beautiful rectangular framed Chinese silk tapestry. Lovely addition to any wall. This tapestry portion of this piece is framed inside of a black and gold inlaid wood frame. The tapestry itself is exquisite. The center of this long silk panel is decorated with flora and fauna motifs. Green bonsai trees, peach and pink flowers, tree branches, green leaves, cranes and butterflies are lovingly hand-embroidered against a soft cream background. Framing this embroidered scene is a lovely applique ribbon that is reminiscent of ikat print, in a pattern of yellows, blues, purples, and reds. An additional border around this ribbon is applied to the outer edges and just before a black trim. The border is chinoiserie in style and features red inner trim, geometric and circular patterns of blue, gold, cream, gray and orange Around the outer edges, is a black trim. We’d love to see this piece go to a home where it’s new owners appreciate the fine craftsmanship of Asian artwork. This piece is lovingly embroidered and quite certainly took quite a bit of time to create. It would look fantastic on a gallery wall of other treasured Asian art, in a hallway, foyer, bedroom or water closet. Wherever it goes, we know that it will bring joy and remind it’s new owners of the simplicity of nature and the craftsmanship that was paramount in this time period.
