This is set of 6 antique botanist's specimens. An English, mounted dried grass display, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1850. Nicely preserved mid 19th century plant life, with appealing presentation Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order behind clear glass Skilfully dried in period and mounted within tasteful, later frames Six different specimens present, each annotated with its Latin name Also annotated with the date of gathering, between 1842 and 1849 Samples noted as being gathered in Kew Gardens and Asia Dressed to the rear with mounting cups for ease of hanging This is a fascinating set of 6 antique botanist's specimens, the decorative grasses displayed neatly within tasteful later frames.
