About the Item
Remarkable pair of diminutive Chinese porcelain Fencai vases featuring beautifully decorated landscape scenes. Vibrant famille rose colors depict a scholar and his attendant offering him a peach with a pine tree and waterfall in the background. Each vase has Chinese script on the back, probably a poem. Each vase stamped with a Tong zhi period stamp reading "Tongzhi Nianzhi" (1862-74), but probably later 20th century Chinese exports from the Quangxu period or later.

The oversized vase of traditional meiping form, with a splayed foot supporting a baluster shaped body with high shoulders, short, narrow neck, and rolled mouth rim.
The large vase decorated with five dragons molded in relief. Their bodies painted in vibrant overglaze famille rose enamels of reds, greens, yellows and turquoise.
