Japanese Antique Wooden Bowl 1910s-1940s Primitive Wabi-Sabi

About the Item

This is a Japanese wooden bowl. It is a folk craft that was used in daily life. I don't know what kind of wood it's made of, but it's sturdy. Since it is made by hand, it has a distorted shape. There are countless knife marks left on the front and back. You can feel the handiwork of old craftsmen. There are cracks in some parts. This is a natural phenomenon of wood clumps. I think it's beautiful, including that. How about adding it to your antique collection? We will always suggest the best shipping method. Please contact us first. We also introduce many other Japanese antique furniture and objects collected from all over Japan. Please take a look if you like.

Since ancient times, people have created and inherited necessary tools from familiar materials to survive in the severe struggle against nature, and have nurtured a lifestyle culture. Over the years, tools acquire a distinctive flavor and reflect the way of life. The more severe the natural environment and the weaker we are, the stronger the power of tools becomes. In today's world, where cheap and disposable products are encouraged, the act of repeatedly re-creating things around us by modifying them opens up a new world.
