About the Item
This is an extraordinary and very early "baby Buddha" pointing toward heaven and earth as witness to his birth. In amazing condition for 600+-year-old wood. Some age cracks, and missing one pointing finger.- otherwise complete. Wonderful untouched face and original patina. I've never seen another like this. Early Edo or earlier, Underside of bottom weighted down with lead (Original). 11" tall. Rare!!
