Yellow Beaded Chantung Roll Neck Dress Suit and Empire Jacket – M, 1960s

About the Item

Impeccably tailored, this dress suit bridges day (its sunny color) and evening (its opulently beaded roll neckline) with ease. Bygone construction includes felled pinked seams, deep hems and luxe fabrics inside and out. Patrician, Fifth Avenue elegance best accessorized with a bossy Yorkshire terrier. Sleeveless sheath and matching empire jacket. Dress features chiffon bodice with heavily beaded/jeweled roll neck, billowing blouson keyhole back and double hip darts front and back; rear metal zipper closure with double hook and eye at back of neck. Collarless ¾ sleeve jacket has empire waist seam and flared peplum with cutaway front panels; 5 self covered buttons (and finished buttonholes!) from neck to empire waist. Both pieces fully lined in silk crêpe. fabric: silk chantung noteworthy: dry clean only alterations: none condition: very good with three faint dark spots (two on right skirt seam at hip and one almost directly above on jacket) and two extremely faint rings on skirt front (one at mid thigh and one at knee).
