About SLIC Design
Principal Designer, Sara Cukerbaum, received her B.A. from New York University before returning to study Interior Design at the Harrington Institute of Design in Chicago. After graduating, Sara worked as a designer at firms in Chicago, New York and Dallas, where she worked on a variety of published projects. Sara launched SLIC Design in 2012.
SLIC Design's focus is on their clients, specifically their vision, lifestyle and budget. Sara's experience allows the firm to offer creative and functional solutions to client projects. Recently, the firm has completed a number of exciting projects in the Austin area including a Barton Hills neighborhood home for a young tech family who moved from the Bay Area, a three-bedroom home and guesthouse for a CEO who recently moved from San Diego, a condo at The Seaholm and more. Sara is supported by a team of talented interior designers and project managers who work tirelessly to executive each project with an attention to detail.
The firm’s aesthetic emphasizes a natural take on modernity, bringing together the best vendors from around the country, culminating at the SLIC Shop, a curated retail space at Sara’s practice. At the SLIC Shop, design lovers will find a selection of ceramics from Re Jin Lee and Caroline Blackburn, glassware from Gary Bodker, throws from Blacksaw and books from Tu Neues and MoMa, as well as hand-picked antiques from Cukerbaum’s travels around the world. Shoppers will also find textiles from Savel, Design of the Time, Yoma and Rose Uniacke.
