Will Barnet Furniture

American, 1911-2012
At the beginning of his career, Will Barnet was known for his figural depictions of domestic scenes. But, as he continued to stylistically develop, Barnet arrived at abstract geometric paintings far removed from his original career. A part of the Indian Space Painters group, Barnet was inspired by Native American art in creating these divergent images. Throughout his career, Barnet oscillated between representational and abstract paintings, never fully settling on one. He has received the National Medal of Arts in 2011, and his work has been displayed at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Daniel Graves "Olive Tree" Etching Signed, Numbered 10/100 on Paper and Framed
Located in Miami, FL
Daniel Graves "Olive Tree" Etching Signed, Numbered 10/100 on Paper and Famed Offered for sale is an etching on paper by American artist Daniel Graves (b.1949) signed lower right and number 10 from an edition of 100. The etching is nicely displayed in a silver-leaf carved wood frame under glass that is wired and ready to hang. Born in 1949, in Rochester, New York, Daniel Graves graduated from the Maryland Art Institute of Art in 1972 where he studied with Joseph Sheppard and Frank Russell. He continued his studies at the Villa Schifanoia Graduate School of Fine Art in Florence, Italy, with Richard Serrin. Following a course of training with Richard Lack in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he taught at the Atelier Lack Studio of Fine Art. In the late 1970s, Graves returned to Florence and undertook individual study with Nerina Simi, who maintained a classical nineteenth-century studio. Ms. Simi was the daughter of the Florentine painter Filadelfo Simi, who had studied with Jean-Léon Gérôme, the head of the French Academy in Paris in the 1870s. With such a rich background of training, Graves has created a style of oil painting that blends the Florentine tradition of Simi and the realist painter, Piero Annigoni, with the draftsmanship of the French artist, Charles Bargue. Daniel Graves joined Charles Cecil...
