Vincent Selby Paintings
British landscape artist Vincent Selby was born in Stockport, Cheshire, in 1919. His interest in the arts developed at an early age, leading him to study art at the Stockport College, where he was tutored by prominent artists of the 1930s. A World War II veteran, Vincent went on to serve in the Royal Artillery from 1939–46. On his return to civilian life, he was employed as a display controller for the display and interior design of a leading furniture house. In 1973, he became a full-time artist, producing paintings largely influenced by the work of the 19th century English school landscape painters. He was an established artist with leading galleries throughout the world, exhibiting and selling his original work in the United Kingdom and the United States of America with great success. As Vincent passed away in 2004, there is a fixed volume of his work in circulation, making each of his paintings a valuable asset to any collection.
