Original Vintage Poster for Le Nil by Leonetto Cappiello dating from 1912. Leonetto Cappiello (1875 - 1942), was born in Livorno, Italy, and spent most of his adult life in Paris where he became one of the most prolific poster artists of all time (he created more than 500 different poster designs for many of the most famous brands of the period). Joseph Bardou also known as Job or Le Nil was one of the brands for which he did a number of posters. She is holding a packet of Gypsy Cigarettes in her other hand. The poster is divided into three colors, yellow, blue and green. Gitanes is a brand of cigarettes produced by Seita, a subsidiary of the Imperial Brands group, created in 1910 at the same time as the Gauloises brand.
