My windshield paintings aim to capture these fleeting and intimate moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of natures turbulence. A childhood of moving and traveling around the United States has shaped Katherine Kean's vision, as have journeys to eastern Africa, Mexico, Scotland, France and painting jaunts all over Kean's now native California. Born in West Virginia, moving later to Ohio and New Jersey, but growing up mainly in Massachusetts, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Film, Video and Animation. I was inspired to paint this white water lily that quietly glowed from a shady, dark spot in a pond. This painting is made in oil on a gallery wrapped linen canvas. The 1 1/2 inch edges are hand painted to coordinate with the front. It is wired with finger friendly wire and ready to install, and includes an official certificate of authenticity.
